The Colleges That Pay You Index
UniversityFindr's index of accredited colleges where students can come out ahead financially: work colleges that charge no tuition, and low-cost online programs where federal Pell Grants (up to $7,395 per year in 2024–25) can exceed charges and produce a financial aid refund check.

Methodology
The index draws on three federal datasets: IPEDS (institutional tuition and aid reporting), the U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard (net price and outcomes), and DAPIP (accreditation status). A school qualifies when it either charges no tuition to admitted students or publishes flat-rate pricing low enough that a Pell-eligible student's combined grant aid can exceed direct charges.
